“Colorful” by SHINee – KPOP Song of the Week

Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week. This week we’ve chosen the new release by SHINee (샤이니) called “Colorful“. Because of Christmas there weren’t many releases this past week and so we’ve chosen this song which was released back on Friday December 20th. So far it has amassed just over 890,000 views on YouTube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Colorful” for our song of the week:

• Firstly the song has nice cheerful tune which links well to the Christmas theme.
• Secondly the video mixes together clips from the past year, behind the scenes, photo shoots etc. Which is nice and interesting to watch.
• Finally SHINee are always a strong group and their harmonies as well as individual performances in this release are top quality.
• On the negative side; the christmas scenes from the video looked a little rushed and sightly boring.
